§01 What Is an Advertising ID?
An Advertising ID is a unique, resettable identifier assigned by your device's operating system that allows advertisers and app developers to track advertising interactions (impressions, clicks, conversions, and app installs) across apps and websites, without exposing your personal identity.
Unlike hardware device identifiers (which are permanent and cannot be changed), Advertising IDs are resettable — you can generate a new one at any time, severing the link to your previous advertising history. They were designed to give users more control over ad tracking compared to persistent hardware identifiers.
§02 Advertising IDs We May Access
We may also access equivalent advertising identifiers on other platforms (e.g., Windows advertising ID, Amazon Fire OS advertising ID) subject to the same principles described in this policy.
§03 How We Use Advertising IDs
Rakett LLC and authorized partners may use your Advertising ID for the following purposes:
- Ad delivery and personalization: Delivering interest-based advertisements tailored to your inferred preferences and behavior
- Frequency capping: Limiting the number of times you see a particular advertisement
- Ad attribution and measurement: Determining whether an ad interaction resulted in an app install, purchase, or other conversion event
- Audience building: Creating anonymized audience segments for advertising targeting (e.g., "users who used feature X in the past 30 days")
- Fraud detection: Identifying and preventing fraudulent ad interactions and click fraud
- Analytics: Measuring ad campaign performance and return on ad spend in aggregate, anonymized form
§04 Sharing With Partners
We may share your Advertising ID with:
- Third-party advertising networks (e.g., Google AdMob, Meta Audience Network) to serve personalized ads
- Attribution providers (e.g., AppsFlyer, Adjust, Branch) to measure app installs and campaign effectiveness
- Analytics providers to understand user acquisition and behavior in aggregate
All partners are contractually required to: (a) comply with applicable privacy laws; (b) honor user opt-out signals; (c) not use Advertising IDs for purposes beyond those listed; and (d) not combine Advertising IDs with personally identifiable information without explicit user consent.
We do not sell your Advertising ID to data brokers or unaffiliated third parties for their independent commercial purposes.
§05 Permitted Uses
In accordance with Apple App Store and Google Play Store policies, and applicable privacy law, Advertising IDs may only be used for:
- Interest-based advertising with user consent where required
- Ad measurement and attribution (with appropriate consent under GDPR)
- Frequency capping and ad sequence management
- Fraud prevention and security purposes
- Aggregated analytics and reporting (de-identified)
§06 Prohibited Uses
We strictly prohibit the following uses of Advertising IDs in all Raketmo products and by all partners.
Advertising IDs must NOT be used for:
- Associating Advertising IDs with personally identifiable information (name, email, phone) without explicit user consent
- Fingerprinting devices or creating persistent identifiers that survive an ID reset
- Tracking users for purposes beyond advertising and measurement
- Advertising to children under 13 (or applicable age of consent) for behavioral ad purposes
- Sharing with or selling to data brokers or unaffiliated third parties without explicit consent
- Using Advertising IDs after a user has opted out or reset their ID
- Combining with sensitive personal data (health, religion, political beliefs, etc.)
- Any purpose that violates Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework or Google's advertising policies
§07 Children & Advertising IDs
We do not access or use Advertising IDs for users we know to be under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of consent in the relevant jurisdiction). In child-directed apps or portions of apps, we do not request access to Advertising IDs and do not pass any advertising identifier to third-party ad networks.
For mixed-audience apps, we implement age-gating mechanisms and configure our ad SDKs to treat sessions as child-directed where there is actual knowledge or reasonable belief that the user is under 13.
§08 Consent & GDPR
For users in the EU, EEA, UK, and other jurisdictions requiring consent for tracking, we do not access your Advertising ID without your prior, freely given, specific, and informed consent. We present a consent request (via Apple's ATT prompt on iOS, or our Consent Management Platform on Android and web) before enabling any advertising tracking.
You may withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of prior processing. Once consent is withdrawn, we cease using your Advertising ID for personalized ad purposes and serve only contextual, non-personalized ads.
For California users, using your Advertising ID for cross-context behavioral advertising may constitute "sharing" under the CPRA. You may opt out by contacting legal@rakettllc.com or using device-level controls.
§09 How to Reset or Opt Out
Reset Your Advertising ID
Resetting your Advertising ID generates a new, random identifier, severing the link between your new ID and your previous advertising history.
- iOSiOS 14+: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → Disable "Allow Apps to Request to Track." This prevents all apps from accessing your IDFA. To reset (if tracking was previously allowed): Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising → Reset Advertising Identifier.
- AAndroid 12+: Settings → Privacy → Ads → "Delete advertising ID." Once deleted, apps receive a string of zeros instead of a real ID. On earlier Android versions: Settings → Google → Ads → "Reset advertising ID."
Opt Out of Interest-Based Advertising
In addition to device-level controls, you can opt out of interest-based advertising from participating companies via the NAI Opt-Out Tool and DAA Opt-Out Tool.
In-App Opt-Out
Where available within a Raketmo app, navigate to Settings → Privacy → Ad Preferences to manage your advertising choices. You may also contact legal@rakettllc.com to request opt-out.
§10 Data Retention
We retain data associated with Advertising IDs for no longer than necessary for the purposes described in this policy, generally no more than 13 months for analytics and attribution data. Advertising ID-based data is deleted or anonymized when: (a) the ID is reset by the user; (b) the user opts out; (c) the retention period expires; or (d) you delete your account.
We do not retain persistent mappings between Advertising IDs and personally identifiable information beyond active user sessions, except where you have explicitly consented to such linkage.
